At London Health Center, we are excited to take part in telemedicine which offers a convenient solution to patients and providers through technology.
Please read the following information prior to your telemedicine visit:
Telemedicine involves the use of electronic communication to enable healthcare providers and patients to meet outside of a traditional face-to-face clinical setting. The providers from our office that are utilizing Telemedicine include:
Nurse consultation/screening for Covid testing.
Naturopathic Physicians
Midwives
We may be using software at the LHC clinic or from our private homes. We are utilizing Telemedicine when appropriate as a safer alternative to patients being seen in office during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is not optimal but is an appropriate alternative in order to help protect you, our providers, and our overburdened hospitals from excessive exposure.
We do our best to protect your privacy. Our software is HIPAA compliant, our Internet is password protected and there is no one else in the room during our telemedicine visit. We can not guarantee security over the internet from malicious attacks on our system or privacy protection through your internet and computer system.
Telemedicine is not optimal care. Without direct physical examination or with poor electronic visual quality there is the possibility of misdiagnosis.
If your condition is determined urgent and we can not provide care via Telemedicine, you will be redirected to an in-person office visit with one of our available physicians and will not be charged for the telemedicine visit provided that the office visit occurs within one week of the Telemedicine visit and is with the same provider-type.
Call your insurance to verify coverage of a telemedicine visit with your primary care provider. Aetna does not cover well child exams through telemedicine.
Electronic visits will be charted. We may take photographs or record portions of this visit if needed for chart documentation. We will obtain your verbal permission prior to any visual documentation. You have the right to ask for and receive a copy of your chart notes.
To go to your scheduled Telemedicine appointment it is as easy as clicking on your provider’s button below. If you have a scheduled appointment, you will be connected to the provider. To schedule an appointment, please call (360) 384-2900.
Supplies and Equipment Needed
A personal computer or tablet with internet access, video camera and sound will be needed to fully participate in a remote session.
Here are a few things that can make your visit go smoothly.
Using a smart phone will work but is not optimal as we can see you better on a computer.
Sit near router if possible (often outside or walking isn't best connection).
Have a headset/earbud available if sound connection or background noise is not ideal.
If you have an iphone, you need to go through your Safari browser to connect.
